Auction Raises $44,000 for
Stayton Christian School

The Stayton Mail, Stayton, Oregon Auctioneer JillMarie Wiles of Canby wowed the crowd with her dynamic style at the Stayton Christian School's "A Knight to Remember" seventh annual benefit auction Saturday, organizers said. "This was the funnest auction I've ever been to, " participant Bobbi Sherwood said.

The auction raised more that $44,000 for the school, with the Americana Quilt made by middle school students going for $1,300. Carol Patterson of Salem bought the quilt. Randy Cransten bought the traditional frog sprinkler with the high bid of of $1,000. The sprinkler, an annual auction favorite, was made into a trophy bearing the yearly auction total with the high bidder's name, and will be displayed at the school. Salvador Venegas of Salem won the drawing for a big screen TV with surround sound.
